As of Aug 31st I have 27 suggestions. I’m looking for some more thought and community leaders, maybe some Canadians doing extaordinary digital work outside of Canada. We’re aiming for 100+ candidates by Nov1.

What will we do then? Well, I’m also looking for suggestions on criteria that defines who should be Canadas Digitial Power 20 and also for a few more good judges (yes I’m opting out as a selector…but I will coordinate).

Once we have candidates, judges and criteria, we will try and name the list by Nov 15.

  2. Check out this list by @iancapstick of 20 leading women in social media. Many are Canadian: http://www.mediastyle.ca/2009/09/20-leading-women-in-social-media/

  3. I have always found it interesting that the “Influencers” of the world of digital are often the ones who talk about the people who actually are doing the great work. Take for example Jonathan Keebler, the CTO and Founder of ScribbleLive.com a “Web Now” startup here in Toronto. He is instrumental in defining the real-time web experience. I nominate him.

    Cheers

  4. Some great names here, and a really strong mix of disciplines as well. It’s hard to suggest just a few and miss out others, but my names would be:

    Danny Brown – http://dannybrown.me http://twitter.com/dannybrown

    Dave Fleet – http://davefleet.com http://twitter.com/davefleet

    Eden Spodek – http://twitter.com/edenspodek

    Martin Waxman – http://twitter.com/martinwaxman

I met them all at Podcamp Toronto earlier this year and follow their thinking. Class acts, each one, and very knowledgeable people in their fields.

  5. If you are looking for people doing extraordinary work outside Canada, I’d say you have to have Daniel Burka, Creative Director at Digg. He’s really freakin genius IMO.
